Glossary

  • CVMFS: The CERN Virtual Machine File System (CVMFS) is a network file system based on HTTP and optimized to deliver experiment software in a fast, scalable, and reliable way. It is widely used in the high-energy physics community to distribute software and data.
  • EOS: The CERN EOS (EOS Open Storage) is a distributed, low-latency storage system designed to handle large amounts of data. It is used by CERN experiments to store and manage their data.
